The Favorite: Duke’s Cameron Boozer is averaging 23.3 points and 9.7 boards per game for the 14-1 Blue Devils. In his squad’s 84-73 win over Louisville on Jan. 6, Boozer had 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The 6-foot-9, 250-pound freshman — whose father is former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer — plays for the Blue Devils alongside his twin brother, Cayden. Cameron is also in the early conversation as a player who could go first in this summer’s NBA Draft.
Dynamic Dybantsa: And that’s exactly what AJ has been this season for the Cougars. He’s BYU’s leading scorer, averaging 23.1 points per game and has helped lead his 14-1 squad to a No. 9 ranking in the country. In one of his most explosive performances this season, the freshman forward put up 33 points, 10 boards and 10 assists in BYU’s 109-81 win over Eastern Washington on Dec. 22.
