A 32-year-old man from Shediac, New Brunswick, died in a head-on collision involving two vehicles in Anagance on Thursday morning.
Sussex RCMP officers arrived at the scene on Route 895 around 7:10 a.m. after reports of the crash. The man, who was alone in the first vehicle, suffered fatal injuries and passed away at the location.
The driver of the second vehicle, also the sole occupant, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a hospital.
Collision Details
Investigators believe the first driver crossed the center line, leading to the direct impact with the oncoming vehicle, according to an RCMP statement.
“The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver of the first vehicle crossed the centre line and collided head-on with the second vehicle,” the RCMP stated.
Ongoing Investigation
An RCMP collision reconstructionist and a representative from the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office examined the scene to support the probe. Authorities plan to conduct an autopsy to confirm the precise cause of death.
