Concerns escalate for the future of Grace Tame’s charity after it reports over $180,000 in losses across two years, alongside internal board tensions triggered by her controversial ‘globalise the intifada’ protest speech.

Financial Deficits Exposed

Filings with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) reveal the Grace Tame Foundation incurred a $60,640 deficit in the 2025 financial year, following a $121,690 loss the prior year. The organization maintains total equity of $129,563 and asserts reasonable grounds to cover its debts.

Key expenditures in the latest year included psychological support at $63,124, salaries and wages at $34,228, and recruitment costs of $26,760. Additional outlays covered staff training and welfare ($11,647), website maintenance ($6,972), and survivor legal support ($17,000).

Revenue Challenges Mount

General donations form the charity’s primary income stream. Tame recently disclosed the cancellation of all her speaking engagements for the year, which she attributes to a targeted smear campaign.

‘This is my last presentation of the year and it’s only March,’ Tame stated at the No to Violence conference in Hobart.

She commands approximately $20,000 per corporate speaking event, as recorded in 2023 figures, marking a substantial income shortfall.

Board Divisions Over Protest Speech

Internal discord brews within the foundation following Tame’s February rally outside Sydney’s Town Hall. There, she protested Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s state visit by chanting ‘globalise the intifada’ at a pro-Palestine event.

Sources confirm one board member expressed particular dismay over the speech. A subsequent video of Tame declaring she would not be silenced has heightened unease among members.

Tame holds a volunteer board director position with Michael Salter, Michael Bradley, and Scarlett Franks.

Tame Addresses Backlash

One month post-protest, Tame asserts her livelihood stands ‘completely destroyed.’ Politicians and Jewish leaders called for revocation of her Australian of the Year title, while a petition exceeding 25,000 signatures demands charges for alleged incitement to violence.

‘I do not support violence,’ Tame wrote in a recent opinion piece. ‘I do not condone antisemitism, Islamophobia or hatred of any kind. I am a human rights activist who advocates for the safety of all children, no matter their background.’

She continued: ‘I’ve lost several close friends for speaking the truth. I’ve been publicly vilified over and over and over again. In under a month, my livelihood has been completely destroyed.’

Foundation’s Mission and Leadership

Launched in 2022, the Grace Tame Foundation works to combat child sexual abuse via advocacy, education, and legal reforms. Tame relinquished the CEO role in 2024, leaving the position unfilled.
