Lady Gabriella Windsor, daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, vacates her London flat more than two years after the death of her husband, Thomas Kingston. The 45-year-old royal, known to friends as Ella, handles the move personally with the assistance of her aristocratic friend, Lady Eloise Waymouth.
Hands-On Move with a Touch of Humor
Windsor appears in high spirits during the relocation, carrying boxes, furniture, soft furnishings, an antique chair, and bags to a waiting van without professional movers. Waymouth, daughter of the late society photographer Lord Patrick Lichfield, joins her in the effort. The two women chat and smile throughout the process.
A lighthearted distraction occurs when a Chesil Speedster 2 car passes by, featuring a dog in the front passenger seat wearing driving goggles. The unusual sight sends both into fits of laughter.
During the move, Windsor does not wear her wedding ring.
Tragic Loss of Thomas Kingston
Financier Thomas Kingston, also 45, died in February 2024 from self-inflicted gunshot wounds at his parents’ £3 million home in the Cotswolds. The couple wed in May 2019 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in attendance.
Windsor previously described feeling ‘lucky’ to have met ‘someone special’ like Kingston. Following his death, she relocates to her parents’ flat at Kensington Palace.
Inquest Reveals Key Details
An inquest discloses that Kingston managed an investment firm facing an £8 million debt. He experienced adverse effects from a combination of anti-depressants and sleeping pills taken in the weeks prior to his death.
Windsor, who attended the hearing in tears, states: ‘Anyone taking pills such as these needs to be made aware of the side effects to prevent future deaths. If this could happen to Tom, it could happen to anyone.’
Records confirm Kingston left no will, with his £660,000 estate passing entirely to his wife.
