Katie Price’s Latest Acting Venture Unveiled
Media personality Katie Price is set to make a notable appearance in an upcoming comedy film titled Jackie the Stripper. This new project sees Price sharing the screen with familiar faces from both the acting and music worlds, including Harry Potter star James Phelps and Liam Gallagher’s former partner, Patsy Kensit.
Film Plot and Price’s Role
The film centers on a group of female vigilante assassins, led by the character Jackie, as they devise a plan to eliminate a corrupt, male-dominated court. Katie Price is slated to portray Lisa, described as an ‘old school Jackie’ within the narrative. The film’s director, Michael Head, known for his previous work on The Last Heist, expressed excitement about the project’s reception.
“We have been overwhelmed by the response to Jackie, which has taken a life of its own,” Head stated. He elaborated on the film’s unexpected trajectory, noting, “What started as a tongue-in-cheek grindhouse B-movie has been picked up for international distribution by an Emmy-winning and Academy Award-nominated company and is set to hit cinemas worldwide.”
Cast and Director’s Praise
Head highlighted the strong ensemble cast, expressing his gratitude for their involvement. “I was very blessed to work with such a great cast. I’ve previously worked with Patsy Kensit, Kimberly Wyatt, and James Phelps, so to have them involved was amazing. To also get a chance to work with Jamie Lomas for the first time was great; Jamie is lovely, and watching him bring the Ripper to life was awe-inspiring.”
Regarding Katie Price’s contribution, Head was particularly complimentary. “There has also been a lot of attention around Katie Price, who was a late addition to the cast. Katie was a pleasure to work with and has been very well received at the Berlin Film Festival (EFM). I can’t say too much yet, but I am looking forward to working with Katie again, not just in the Jackie franchise but in other films also. Everyone knows Katie Price as a personality, and I believe there is a lot to come from Katie as an actor. I can’t wait to work with her again.”
International Distribution and Release
The film’s reach is expected to extend globally. “It has already sold to some international territories for both theatrical and home release,” the director and writer revealed. “The interest and attention have been overwhelming, and I can’t say too much, but I’ll be sitting down with the team to discuss what’s next, so watch this space.”
Jackie the Stripper is scheduled for release on July 2.
