Watch the Senate blue ribbon committee probe into flood management initiatives
MANILA, Philippines – The Senate blue ribbon committee on Tuesday, August 19, begins its probe into anomalous flood management initiatives.
Senator Rodante Marcoleta, who will preside over his first listening to as committee chairman, stated the probe will concentrate on ties between contractors and public officers taking advantage of flood management initiatives.
Rappler earlier reported that some senators and Home members are linked to building companies — both as marketing campaign donors or via family-owned companies.
The Senate probe comes after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., in his fourth State of the Nation Deal with, known as out public officers and firms concerned in corruption in flood management initiatives.
Just a few weeks after his pronouncement, the Marcos administration launched a web site that permits the general public to report flood management points. He additionally named the highest 15 largest contractors. A Rappler investigation discovered that six of those had acquired dangerous rankings in earlier authorities initiatives.
