The Los Angeles Metropolis Council delayed a vote Friday on Metropolis Lawyer Hydee Feldstein Soto’s request to rent a “monitor” who would observe town’s progress and use of funds beneath a federal lawsuit settlement requiring 12,915 shelter beds by June 2027.

The Metropolis Council is anticipated to revisit the matter Wednesday. Feldstein Soto has proposed contracting with former Metropolis Controller Ron Galperin and knowledge analyst Daniel Garrie to serve collectively because the monitor within the L.A. Alliance case.

In June, a federal courtroom decide decided that town failed to satisfy its obligations beneath a settlement settlement with the L.A. Alliance for Human Rights.
