Who’s starting, who’s hurt, and who’s on the move?

NFL news is nonstop, and we’re breaking it all down week by week this season.

Here’s the latest on what’s happening around the league entering Week 11:

Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. out indefinitely

The Arizona Cardinals will be without their top wide receiver for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers and possibly even longer. Marvin Harrison Jr. recently underwent surgery for appendicitis, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters on Wednesday.

Harrison has 34 receptions for 525 yards and four touchdowns this season. He’s seen an improvement in his play more recently, logging 18 receptions for 317 yards and two touchdowns in five games since the start of October.

Giants change QB depth chart

With Jaxson Dart in concussion protocol and likely to miss Week 11, the Giants have moved third-string quarterback Jameis Winston up to second-string, putting him in line to start against the Green Bay Packers should Dart be inactive, per NFL Media. Russell Wilson, who signed a one-year, $10.5 million deal with the Giants, started the first three games of the season before Dart was put under center in Week 4; Wilson has since been Dart’s backup. New York fired head coach Brian Daboll earlier in the week after falling to 2-8.

Eagles CB Jaire Alexander contemplating retirement

Just over a week after getting from the Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Jaire Alexander is stepping away from football to “focus on getting himself right physically and mentally” before making a decision about his playing future, FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer reported Tuesday.

Alexander, 28, didn’t play in the Eagles’ 10-7 win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday. Alexander spent the first seven seasons of his Pro Bowl career with the Packers before getting released in June. He signed with the Ravens shortly after, but played in just two games as he was a healthy scratch for five games.

The Eagles acquired Alexander and a 2027 seventh-round pick from the Ravens for a 2026 sixth-round pick on Nov. 1. Alexander has been named a Pro Bowler and All-Pro twice in his career.

Steelers add CB Asante Samuel Jr.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are adding a reinforcement amid losing three of their last four games. They’ve added veteran cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. to their practice squad, according to multiple reports.

Samuel, who was previously with the Los Angeles Chargers, was widely considered one of the top cornerbacks in free agency last offseason. However, he remained unsigned until Tuesday as he underwent spinal fusion surgery in April.

Pittsburgh has dealt with a slew of injuries in its secondary as of late. Cornerback Darius Slay became the latest injured member of the Steelers’ secondary, entering the concussion protocol following Sunday’s loss to the Chargers.

Samuel had six interceptions over the first three seasons of his career before an injury shortened his 2024 season to four games.

Raiders sign new kicker amid Carlson’s struggles

The Las Vegas Raiders signed kicker Greg Joseph to the practice squad Tuesday, a strong indication they are ready to move on from Daniel Carlson should he continue to struggle.

Carlson missed a 48-yard field goal that could have sent Thursday night’s 10-7 loss at Denver into overtime. That came just four days after he missed an extra point in a one-point OT loss to Jacksonville.

“He wants to do right by his team,’ coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday. ‘He wants to get clear (mentally), and he’s well-versed on the mentality of … the preparation and the practice to get your mind clear so that you can perform like you’re capable. When they stack up on you after some time, you have to deal with it directly, so we’re addressing that right now.”

Carlson, who is in the final season of his contract, was a second-team AP All-Pro in 2021 and a first-teamer the next season. He made 7 of 11 kicks from 50 yards and beyond last season but is 3 of 6 this year.

Is J.K. Dobbins heading to injured reserve?

The Broncos starting running back is reportedly a candidate for injured reserve after suffering a left foot sprain against the Raiders in Week 10. Denver has not placed Dobbins on the list as of Tuesday, though with a Week 11 meeting with the Chiefs approaching, the news could quickly change.

Dobbins’ solid play has steadied one of the NFL’s best offenses in his first year with the team. He’s compiled 153 carries for 772 yards, the fifth-most in the NFL, and four touchdowns.

Joe Burrow is returning to practice

Joe Burrow returned to practice with the Bengals on Monday, opening the 21-day window for the franchise quarterback to return to the lineup. His practice time will not count against the 53-player active roster. Burrow is eligible to be activated during the three-week window.

However, coach Zac Taylor said Burrow would not return for Sunday’s game at Pittsburgh. The Bengals (3-6) have lost six of seven since Burrow suffered a toe injury in mid-September that required surgery.

“I think he’s at a good point. He’s worked hard to get to this point to get back on the field in a limited form,” Taylor said before Monday’s practice.

Burrow will work with some of the receivers but won’t participate in 11-on-11 drills until possibly next week.

FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer tweeted that, “Last week Joe Burrow told me he’s returning wayyyy sooner than was expected and gave me the timeline of “by Thanksgiving.” Now will start practicing on a limited basis. Absolutely unreal attack of rehab and response. At first medical people didn’t believe he’d be back before playoffs.”

The Bengals have three wins in 2025, two of which came with Burrow as the starting QB. Cincinnati went 0-3 with Jake Browning as the starting quarterback, and have gone 1-4 with Joe Flacco since a trade with the Browns.

Chiefs OL Simmons returns, playing status uncertain

Kansas City Chiefs left tackle Josh Simmons has returned to the team after dealing with a family matter that kept him away for several weeks, though it remains unclear when the first-round draft pick will be back on the field for them.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid told local reporters Monday that the former Ohio State standout, who had been replaced by Jaylon Moore in the starting lineup, would get back into the offensive line mix as the team returned from its bye.

Kansas City is preparing to visit the AFC West-leading Broncos for a crucial divisional matchup Sunday.

Simmons earned the starting job on Patrick Mahomes‘ blindside early in fall camp, and he had exceeded almost all expectations through the first part of the season. But the 22-year-old suddenly left the team before its Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions, and the Chiefs have been intentionally vague about the circumstances surrounding his departure.

Reid also said right tackle Jawaan Taylor, who had left the Chiefs’ loss to the Bills two weeks ago with an ankle injury, was doing better even before the team began its week off. It appears he will be available against the Broncos on Sunday.

Jets’ Garrett Wilson slated to miss multiple games

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson will reportedly miss three to four games after re-injuring his right knee against the Cleveland Browns, per ESPN. Wilson underwent an MRI on Monday to confirm the severity of his knee sprain, which will require rehab and no surgery.

Wilson, who had no catches in a game for the first time in his four NFL seasons, was hurt in the third quarter of the 27-20 Week 10 win when he came down hard on the knee after going for a deep pass down the sideline. The veteran wideout never came back in the game.

Prior to the update, head coach Aaron Glenn didn’t sound optimistic about Wilson’s availability on a short week with New York playing Thursday night.

“We’re still evaluating him, seeing exactly how he’s going to come out this week to see if he’ll be a part of practice,” Glenn said Monday.

After previously missing the first two games of his career in Weeks 7 and 8, Wilson will now miss additional time with the hope of returning in either Week 13 or 14. The Jets play the AFC East-leading Patriots in New England to open Week 11.

Daron Payne suspended for hitting Amon-Ra St. Brown

Washington Commanders defensive tackle Daron Payne was suspended for one game without pay by the NFL on Monday for hitting Detroit Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown during the teams’ game the night before, violating a rule “contrary to sportsmanship,” per the NFL’s statement.

Payne was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct in the second quarter of Washington’s 44-22 loss to visiting Detroit on Sunday.

He will miss Washington’s game next Sunday in Spain against the Miami Dolphins, though, Payne is allowed to appeal the suspension.

Chiefs RB likely to miss more time

After missing Week 9 with a sprained MCL, Isiah Pacheco could be in danger of missing Week 11 and possibly beyond as the Chiefs return from their bye week.

“We’ll have to see,” Reid said Monday when asked about Pacheco playing Sunday against the Broncos.

Pacheco, Kansas City’s leading rusher with 329 yards on 78 carries, missed the team’s 28-21 loss to the Bills (5-2) prior to the Week 10 bye. He did not practice leading up to the game after suffering the injury late in the Week 8 win over the Commanders.
