Southeastern Taiwan shaken by 6.1 magnitude quake

TAIPEI, Taiwan – An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 struck Taiwan’s southeastern coastal county of Taitung on Wednesday, December 24, the island’s climate administration stated, though there have been no fast studies of injury.

The quake shook buildings within the capital, Taipei. The quake had a depth of 11.9 kilometers, the administration stated.

There was not fast report of injury throughout Taiwan, the Nationwide Hearth Company stated.

Taiwan chipmaker TSMC stated the quake didn’t attain the required degree for evacuation of factories throughout the island, which lies close to the junction of two tectonic plates and is liable to earthquakes.
