The Minnesota company tasked with investigating the killing of a U.S. citizen by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent has withdrawn from the case, alleging federal authorities have restricted its entry to proof.

The Minnesota Bureau of Felony Apprehension stated it was initially assigned to research the killing of 37-year-old Renee Good together with the FBI. 

The BCA stated the U.S. Lawyer’s Workplace has now “reversed course” on the choice, and that it was knowledgeable “the investigation would now be led solely by the FBI, and the BCA would now not have entry to the case supplies, scene proof or investigative interviews obligatory to finish an intensive and unbiased investigation.”

“With out full entry to the proof, witnesses and data collected, we can’t meet the investigative requirements that Minnesota legislation and the general public calls for. The FBI declined to touch upon the BCA assertion. 

An unidentified ICE agent fatally shot Good close to East thirty fourth Avenue and Portland Avenue Wednesday morning. Good was behind the wheel of her automotive, and metropolis leaders stated she was a authorized observer of federal actions within the metropolis and wasn’t a goal for an ICE-related arrest.

Federal officers, together with Division of Homeland Safety Secretary Kristi Noem and President Trump, stated the agent killed Good in self-defense, a story contradicted by witness accounts, video proof and native officers.
