Rep. Ilhan Omar stated Sunday that it’s “not acceptable” for President Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Homeland Safety Secretary Kristi Noem to have issued public statements condemning the ladies shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis “with out a full investigation.”

“In the event that they’re saying we should not imagine our eyes, then let the investigation happen earlier than you characterize this mom of three as a home terrorist,” Omar, a Democrat from Minnesota, stated Sunday on “Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan.” “Show to us what documentation you’ve gotten that one, she was paid and two, that she was agitating when you possibly can hear saying she’s not mad, she’s not upset, she’s clearly making an attempt to waive vehicles to bypass her. And so it is simply this degree of rhetoric is unjustifiable to the American individuals.”

Amid an immigration crackdown in Minneapolis, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent on Wednesday shot and killed Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old American citizen. Video of the incident from completely different vantage factors has ricocheted throughout social media, with Mr. Trump and Vance insisting Good had instigated the taking pictures, though the footage is unclear whether or not Good was trying to drive into the ICE agent or drive away.

Instantly after the taking pictures, Noem known as it an “act of home terrorism,” doubling down on Sunday by alleging that Good had  “weaponized her car to conduct an act of violence towards the regulation enforcement officer and the general public.”

In response to Omar’s feedback on Sunday, a White Home spokesperson stated “a number of movies” contradicted Omar, and insisted the “ICE officer was clearly struck by Good’s automobile.”

Minneapolis, which Omar represents in Congress, has been reeling for the reason that taking pictures, with days of protests. Within the quick aftermath of the taking pictures, Democratic Mayor Jacob Frey informed ICE to “get the f*** out of Minneapolis,” and Gov. Tim Walz known as the federal company’s narrative of the occasions “bulls**t.” Walz added, “Do not imagine this propaganda machine.”

Omar stated she thinks “it’s actually necessary for People to file” ICE brokers and regulation enforcement at protests to “create the extent of accountability and transparency that we’d like.”

“What we have now seen in Minneapolis is ICE brokers oftentimes leaping out of their vehicles,” Omar stated. “These are unmarked vehicles. Oftentimes, they’re sporting a masks. They’re approaching, operating in direction of vehicles. They’re pulling individuals out of these vehicles. Oftentimes, these individuals are residents. Oftentimes, these individuals have documentation of their authorized proper to be on this nation, and we all know that DHS has lied repeatedly relating to these accounts, so it’s much more necessary for there to be recording from eyewitnesses each single time these actions are happening.”
