The US Division of Training has introduced $256 million in new Training Innovation and Analysis (EIR) grants to enhance literacy nationwide. These grants are the primary awards made utilizing three of Training Secretary McMahon’s grant-making priorities: strengthening evidence-based literacy instruction, increasing training alternative, and returning training to the states.

Because of the secretary’s coverage of “returning training to the states,” ten of the 24 new awards went to state training businesses—marking the biggest variety of state-led literacy awards in any EIR competitors and a major enhance over earlier years.

Of the 24 grantees, 18 are new to the EIR program.   • Massachusetts: $10 million for early literacy tutoring as a part of broader state initiatives like Literacy Launch. 

Eligible entities embody state training businesses, native training businesses, universities, nonprofits, cities, and constitution college operators. 

The EIR program funds the creation, improvement, implementation, replication, or scaling of progressive, evidence-based approaches to enhance scholar achievement. Initiatives have to be rigorously evaluated, with findings shared publicly.
