Iranian authorities have begun readying burial sites for American soldiers in anticipation of a possible US military strike. The Behesht Zahra Organisation, responsible for managing the country’s largest cemetery, has designated an area outside Tehran capable of accommodating several thousand graves. This development occurs as diplomatic frictions between Tehran and Washington intensify.
US Military Movements and Warnings
The USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group continues its approach toward Iranian waters. During an appearance on the red carpet for his wife’s film “Melania,” President Donald Trump called on Iran to abandon its nuclear ambitions and cease violence against domestic protesters. He stated, “We have a lot of very big, very powerful ships sailing to Iran right now. And it would be great if we didn’t have to use them. I told them two things: Number one, no nuclear. And number two, stop killing protesters… They’re going to have to do something.”
Trump’s remarks underscore demands for compliance, with threats of action if unmet. The US maintains that Iran’s nuclear activities pose a significant threat, while Tehran insists its program serves peaceful, civilian purposes.
Iran’s Response and Military Enhancements
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi ed openness to dialogue, emphasizing the need for equitable terms free from coercion. He remarked, “They must certainly set aside their threats and change their approach toward a fair and equitable negotiation, as Mr. Trump himself said in his post.” Araghchi added that Tehran has “no problem with negotiations.”
In parallel, Iranian forces have integrated 1,000 advanced strategic drones into their arsenal. State media linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps confirmed the deployment but withheld images to protect operational security.
