David Beckham, the 50-year-old former footballer, steps into the kitchen alongside his longtime friend, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, 59, to promote a new meal kit collaboration. The duo, who have shared a friendship spanning two decades, partners with Real Home Chef, where Ramsay develops premium recipes. Beckham contributes his BEEUP fruit snacks to enhance the deliveries.
Instagram Debut of the Partnership
On Saturday, Beckham posted an Instagram video showcasing his preparation of Ramsay’s Scallop Truffle Risotto recipe, delivered in a meal kit box. The clip captures Beckham on a FaceTime call with Ramsay, who supervises the cooking process remotely.
‘Look what has just arrived at my house. What have you sent me?’ Beckham asks upon unboxing. Ramsay responds, ‘It’s a little gift from chef to chef.’
Beckham notices Ramsay’s stern expression on the box and jokes, ‘You could have smiled by the way.’ Ramsay laughs, ‘That is me smiling, sorry. Inside that box is a five-star recipe of a beautiful scallop truffle risotto, which I know you love.’
‘That’s very true actually. Okay, so risotto—watch and learn,’ Beckham replies as he begins cooking. He seeks Ramsay’s input on the scallops, prompting Ramsay to praise, ‘They are looking beautiful. Great sear by the way. Bellissimo!’
Beckham adds, ‘I’ve had a good teacher. All done, mate, finishing touches,’ while sprinkling chives. To highlight the partnership, he holds up a BEEUP snack packet and says, ‘But there’s one thing that’s missing in the meal kit. Something sweet.’ Ramsay concludes, ‘Your finishing touches. Well done, chef.’
Timing Amid Family Spotlight
The video arrives shortly after Beckham’s son, Brooklyn, 26, faced online mockery for a social media cooking post. Brooklyn shared steps for his ‘special spaghetti Bolognese’—notably without spaghetti—drawing comments like, ‘Is the spaghetti in the room with us, hun?’ and ‘This is not spaghetti.’
Brooklyn later explained in the comments, ‘I was going to use spaghetti but ran out xx.’
This post follows Brooklyn’s recent public statement accusing his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of controlling behavior, attempting to sabotage his marriage to Nicola Peltz, 30, and mishandling wedding elements, including Victoria’s last-minute withdrawal from designing the bride’s dress and an alleged inappropriate first dance.
