Kim Kardashian recently shared a video showcasing her eight-year-old daughter Chicago’s impressive piano skills, a talent seemingly passed down from her father, Kanye West.
Chicago’s Piano Performance
The 45-year-old shared a clip on her Instagram Stories of Chicago effortlessly playing the piano without sheet music. Seated at a cream-colored piano in their mansion, the young girl demonstrated strong rhythm and coordination using both hands. Chicago, who turned eight in January, wore a patterned pink dress with her curly dark hair in a ponytail. Her six-year-old brother Psalm played nearby with a friend.
North’s Recent Rap Single Release
This revelation follows closely after Chicago’s 12-year-old sister North released her debut rap single, Piercing On My Hand. North unveiled the track on social media with cover art featuring her sporting bright blue hair and dermal piercings on her fingers.
North first appeared with the finger piercings in November, drawing criticism from fans labeling them ‘high-risk.’ She responded calmly with ‘It’s okay’ accompanied by a heart-shaped hands emoji. In December, North addressed detractors in a TikTok video, overlaying text that read: ‘This is for everyone that’s mad over a finger piercing.’ The video included a soundbite: ‘Why are you crying? How old are you? Just pull it together.’
Family Background and Parenting Insights
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West also share sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 6. During a January appearance on her sister Khloe Kardashian’s podcast, Khloe In Wonder Land, Kim discussed North’s homeschooling routine, which includes eight-hour music studio sessions focused on producing and writing.
‘At home she’ll do an eight-hour music studio session, where she’s producing and writing. I’ll add her writing out all of her lyrics as a part of her spelling tests,’ Kim explained. ‘We do all of the things at home that she really enjoys and are challenging.’
Defending her approach to parenting amid public scrutiny, Kim stated: ‘I’m just not a judgmental person like that, so I try not to pay attention to it.’ She added, ‘No one knows, unless they’re in my shoes, what I’m dealing with and how we have to manage certain things from the outside world.’
Kim clarified misconceptions about being overly lenient, noting: ‘Northie actually has a lot of rules. The one area [of freedom] is that I do let her express herself.’
