The popular drama series Tell Me Lies reaches its conclusion with the third season finale, which premiered Tuesday morning in the US. Starring Grace Van Patten and Jackson White as lovers navigating a tumultuous eight-year relationship, the show adapts Carola Lovering’s novel.
Creator Announces Series Wrap
Showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer revealed the news on Instagram Wednesday, just before the eighth episode of season three launched on Hulu in the US. “After three amazing seasons of Tell Me Lies, tonight’s episode will be the series finale,” she posted alongside a photo with the cast. “This was always the ending my writing team and I had in mind, and we are insanely proud of it. Your incredible response to this season inspired us to explore whether there was another organic way to continue the story, but ultimately we felt it had reached its natural conclusion.”
Oppenheimer emphasized her commitment to quality: “My main goal has always been to protect the quality of the show and give you the best experience I can give you. And so, while it is bittersweet to leave something that has been such a happy experience, I am very grateful that we are able to tell a complete story with an intentional ending – a privilege very few shows get.”
She concluded, “Thank you for loving our show. We are excited to bring you more stories in the near future.”
Strong Reception for Final Season
Season three kicked off with five million global viewers for the premiere, marking a 150 percent jump from the season one opener. Critics have largely praised the installment.
Where to Watch
The finale, titled “Are You Happy Now, That I’m on My Knees?”, streams on Disney+ in the UK. The first two seasons are available on BBC iPlayer there.
