Fatal Stabbing Outside Rideau Centre
Ottawa police’s homicide unit is probing a deadly stabbing that occurred outside the Rideau Centre mall on Thursday evening. Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 5:30 p.m. after reports of a person suffering life-threatening injuries.
Paramedics treated an adult male who had been stabbed near the mall entrance. He received transport to a hospital in critical condition but passed away from his wounds soon after.
Suspect Detained, No Public Threat
Officers have detained one individual linked to the attack. Investigators confirm no ongoing risk to public safety exists.
