A World Struggle II-era Douglas C-47 army transport aircraft dubbed “Miss Montana” had been parked in a museum for almost twenty years after a profession transporting firefighters in Montana. Now, with its engines rebuilt and the fuselage restored to its early glory, it’s becoming a member of different veteran airplanes that noticed service on D-Day 75 years in the past for a visit throughout the Atlantic, for an anniversary flight over the seashores of Normandy. Richard Schlesinger talks with those that obtained Miss Montana again within the air.
