A group of individuals armed with weapons carried out a violent assault on a quiet residential street in Droylsden, Tameside, leaving one man with severe injuries. Emergency responders rushed to the scene on Greenside Crescent following reports of the attack around 6 p.m. on Thursday evening.
Scene Secured and Investigation Underway
Police maintained a strong presence at the location into Friday, January 31, with a forensic tent set up and sections of the street cordoned off to preserve evidence. The incident involved a serious assault, and authorities confirm at least one victim received immediate medical attention before being transported to a hospital.
The injured man, believed to be in his 30s, sustained significant head trauma and remains under treatment for his condition. Investigators describe the attack as targeted, involving multiple suspects who used weapons to inflict the injuries.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Inspector Paul Cawsey of Tameside CID stated: “The investigation is at an early stage as we try to establish the motivation behind this incident that has resulted in a man being treated at the scene and in hospital. It is believed the assault was carried out by a number of individuals using weapons that have caused serious injury to the victim.”
He added: “We have officers in the area as we continue our investigation and to provide a reassuring presence. We are asking members of the public with information or who were in the area last night, especially anyone with CCTV, doorbell or phone footage, to contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting log 2715-30/01/2026.”
