An Australian man has died in a tragic balcony incident at a hotel in Bali’s bustling Seminyak tourist district following a dispute with his girlfriend.
Emergency Response in Seminyak
Emergency services rushed to the second-floor hotel room around 4:15 a.m. on Wednesday after the man’s girlfriend discovered him barely breathing on the balcony. The 30-year-old, identified only by the initials JRTC, had checked into the hotel with his partner on Saturday and was scheduled to check out later that day.
Witnesses report that JRTC returned to the hotel around 1:30 a.m. after drinking at a nearby bar. The couple argued, leading him to sleep on the balcony while she rested inside. When she checked on him hours later, she found him suspended from the railing by a bed sheet tied around his neck.
“The victim’s girlfriend immediately reported the situation to the hotel staff,” stated Denpasar Police spokesperson Gede Adi Saputra Jaya.
Hotel staff promptly summoned paramedics. “When found, the victim was still breathing. However, he was unconscious when taken to Siloam Hospital in Denpasar,” Jaya added.
Investigation Underway
JRTC arrived at the hospital in critical condition and passed away around 8 a.m. Authorities confirm an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
