Cameron Diaz and Keanu Reeves appear timeless in the latest trailer for their upcoming Apple TV+ film, Outcome, where they portray lifelong best friends.
Stellar Performances in the Trailer
Keanu Reeves, 61, embodies A-list actor Reef Hawk with a youthful vibe, featuring a neat cropped haircut and styled beard that makes him look years younger. Cameron Diaz, 53, radiates alongside him as Kyle, Reef’s devoted best friend. Her long blonde hair cascades in loose waves, complemented by a serene expression.
Film Details and Release
Directed, co-written, and produced by Jonah Hill, Outcome premieres on April 11. Hill describes the movie as “a metaphor for what we all go through living on social media. Social media has made us obsessed with what people we don’t know think of us, instead of caring about what the people who know us best think of us.”
The official synopsis states: “Reef Hawk, Hollywood’s poster child since age six, is not okay. When he learns about an extortion plot tied to a mysterious video, Reef preemptively sets out on a redemption tour to make amends, confront his demons, and avoid getting canceled.”
Cameron Diaz on Celebrity Culture
Cameron Diaz highlights the film’s commentary on fame. “It’s an interesting commentary about celebrity and how it functions in our society and what’s expected,” she states. “It’s a feeling that everyone is reaching for and they don’t really know what it is, and it’s a value in our society that I think we should all sort of take a look at because it might not be the best thing for our health.”
She views the project as a rare opportunity. “Making movies is a privilege and getting to do it at this level with actors on this level and Jonah as a writer and director, you know, I don’t take that lightly, and so anytime that I get to work with people who I admire so much, that’s a win for me,” Diaz adds.
30-Year Reunion
Outcome reunites Diaz and Reeves after three decades, since their 1996 rom-com Feeling Minnesota. In that film, Reeves played a newly released ex-convict who falls for his brother’s wife, portrayed by Diaz.
“That was my third film,” Diaz recalls, addressing Reeves. “You forgot about that, right? You don’t remember that, right? You blocked it out of your memory? It was my third film. I was so green! It was terrible… We’ve known each other over the years, so like to be able to come back to doing a movie together, it’s just like for me, I was very excited.”
Diaz’s Hollywood Comeback
After a 10-year break to focus on family with husband Benji Madden, Diaz returned in 2025’s Back in Action. Upcoming projects include Shrek 5, Bad Day, Reenactment, and The Sham.
