Christine McGuinness has addressed recent speculation linking her to former Olympian boxer Nicola Adams, clarifying her current relationship status. The television personality, who finalized her divorce from Paddy McGuinness two years ago, has stated she is “happily single.”
Setting the Record Straight
Reports emerged earlier this month suggesting a romance between McGuinness and Adams after the two were observed interacting closely at a recent entertainment industry event. However, in a new interview, the 38-year-old mother of three has firmly denied these claims.
“I’m happily single and just dating,” McGuinness stated. She elaborated on her dating habits, explaining, “I’m actually not dating multiple women – I tend to stay with one for a while if I’m happy. I don’t mix, but I text lots of people.”
Dating Preferences and Encounters
McGuinness shared insights into her dating preferences, noting that she is attracted to “more masculine women, strong and into fitness.” She also mentioned attending various LGBTQ+ events.
Regarding specific encounters, she said, “I met Rox at the National Diversity Awards. I’ve known her for years, and I absolutely adore her. I’ve got so much respect for her. Then, I met Nicola at the Diva Awards.” McGuinness, who continues to reside in the marital home with her ex-husband, comedian Paddy McGuinness, emphasized the distinction between these individuals: “They’re two completely different women – one I’ve known for two minutes and one for two years.”
The increased public attention has proven overwhelming for McGuinness, particularly when it involves unconfirmed relationships. “Now it looks like I’m dating two women, and I’m not dating either!” she expressed.
Navigating Casual Dating and Future Aspirations
While McGuinness has been exploring the dating scene, she admitted that casual dating proves challenging for her. She prefers to focus on one person at a time but is not yet ready to commit to a full relationship.
“When I’ve been dating, it gets a bit more serious, and someone brings up ‘Is it going to be a relationship or not?’” she explained. McGuinness has decided to postpone significant relationship steps until her living situation changes and she no longer shares a home with Paddy McGuinness.
She also noted that dating women has sometimes led to the loss of friendship groups after a separation. Despite these challenges, McGuinness remains hopeful about finding a long-term partner and looks forward to the day she can “call somebody my wife one day” and establish a “really solid, loving, lesbian relationship.”
Currently, McGuinness is focused on her career and financial growth, aiming to reach a point where she can date with clear intentions and “invite somebody over to my house.”
