Cuba says 4 killed after U.S. boat violates territorial waters

Cuban officers mentioned a U.S. registered speedboat violated their territorial waters, kicking off an armed confrontation with Cuban border guard troops through which 4 individuals on the vessel have been killed.

Cuba’s Ministry of the Inside posted the assertion on Fb.

U.S. officers didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark.

A commander of the Cuban border guard was injured and 6 individuals on the U.S. registered vessel have been additionally injured, the assertion mentioned.

The assertion famous that the individuals on the U.S. registered vessel had initiated the firefight.

“When a floor unit of the Border Guard Troops of the Ministry of the Inside, carrying 5 service members, approached the vessel for identification, the crew of the violating speedboat opened hearth on the Cuban personnel, ensuing within the harm of the commander of the Cuban vessel,” the assertion mentioned.
