Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder returns to the ring on April 4, facing off against Derek Chisora at London’s O2 Arena. This matchup tops the inaugural Misfits Pro boxing event and streams live on DAZN.
Wilder’s Recent Journey
Wilder enters with a record of 44-4-1, including 43 knockouts. He aims for back-to-back victories after a challenging stretch from 2020 to 2024, where he posted a 1-4 mark following an undefeated start of 42-0-1. Key setbacks included consecutive knockout losses to Tyson Fury, a knockout triumph over Robert Helenius, defeats to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang, and a knockout win against Tyrrell Herndon in June.
At 40 years old, Wilder steps back into the United Kingdom for the first time in 12 years. His previous bout there came against Audley Harrison in 2013.
Chisora’s Comeback Trail
Chisora, a former title challenger, holds a 36-13 record with 23 knockouts. He rides a three-fight winning streak over Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce, and Otto Wallin since suffering a knockout loss to then-WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in 2022.
Now 42, Chisora has battled elite heavyweights of his era, including Oleksandr Usyk, Joseph Parker, Dillian Whyte, and Vitali Klitschko.
Event Context
Speculation had linked Wilder to a potential showdown with Usyk, but he now leads Misfits Boxing’s debut professional event instead.
