A millionaire former owner of Premier League club Nottingham Forest suffered stab wounds during a home invasion by masked intruders. Fawaz Al-Hasawi confronted two armed men who broke into his £10 million Mayfair property in London earlier this month.
Details of the Attack
The 57-year-old Kuwaiti entrepreneur was asleep when the raiders burst into his bedroom. He sustained stab injuries to his hand and neck while trying to fight them off. A social media photo from the hospital shows his hands heavily bandaged following the ordeal.
Authorities report that it remains unclear if the robbers stole anything before fleeing. Al-Hasawi is a well-known collector of luxury watches.
Police Response and Investigation
Metropolitan Police confirm the injuries are neither life-threatening nor life-changing. Officers continue to investigate the incident.
Al-Hasawi’s legal team has pressed police for more public details, noting concerns among visitors from the Arabian Gulf about potential similar attacks.
Public Support and Recovery Update
Social media has seen an influx of supportive messages. Al-Hasawi’s lawyer, Khawla Mubarak Al-Hasawi, shared an update on X: “Fawaz is fine, by God’s grace. May God protect him from all harm and bless him with the safety of his son, Abdulaziz.”
Football Ownership History
Al-Hasawi acquired Nottingham Forest from Nigel Doughty’s estate in 2012. He sold the club to Evangelos Marinakis in May 2017 after appointing nine managers over five years. In June 2019, the club issued a legal demand for the return of a replica FA Cup trophy that Al-Hasawi had taken to display at his home.
