Multiple Suspects Charged After Deadly Residential Break-In
Seven Toronto men face serious charges following an intensive investigation into a violent home invasion that left one resident dead in Mississauga last fall. Authorities confirmed the arrests resulted from what they described as a “complex and lengthy” probe into the October 2024 incident.
Details of the Nighttime Attack
Emergency responders rushed to a residence near Central Parkway West and Confederation Parkway around 3:40 a.m. on October 1 after receiving multiple reports of gunfire. Investigators report that four masked intruders forcibly entered a residence, confronted occupants, and demanded cash and valuables.
During the violent confrontation, 55-year-old homeowner Ruo Zhou Wei sustained fatal gunshot wounds and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The suspects fled the scene in a white Volkswagen Atlas before authorities arrived.
Investigation Leads to Arrests
Through forensic analysis and judicial authorization spanning more than 80 kilometers of evidence collection, investigators identified seven individuals allegedly connected to the crime. Three suspects – Sonam Wangchuk, 25, Muhammad Rahimullah, 21, and Tenzin Lama, 21 – face charges of second-degree murder and attempted murder with a firearm.
Three additional suspects – Kang Lu, 69, Kwok Chik, 65, and Xi Chen, 64 – have been charged with manslaughter. A seventh individual, 21-year-old Tenzin Jungney, faces multiple firearm-related charges. All charges remain before the courts.
