‘Lawrence’ talks about what lured him to promote Philippine state secrets and techniques, to the advantage of China’s strategic pursuits

MANILA, Philippines – Lawrence (not his actual identify) was recruited into what Filipino safety officers say was an espionage scheme by Chinese language nationals — one which focused younger authorities staff with monetary wants and entry to delicate safety data.

Lawrence, who has labored in each the Division of Nationwide Protection and Philippine Navy, offered evaluation and perception into the businesses — together with analyses he now says he embellished.

The Nationwide Safety Council stated in early March that these spying operations linked to China had since been dismantled. Lawrence is now below army custody.
