Google has enhanced Gemini for Home, eliminating restrictions on cocktail recipes. Users no longer receive messages like “I cannot provide recipes for alcoholic beverages” when requesting instructions for drinks such as a margarita on devices like the Nest Hub.
Refined Safeguards for Adult Users
The update adjusts safeguards to ensure adults access general queries, including recipes for age-restricted beverages. Google states in its support documentation that users will “now experience improved availability for general queries, including recipes for age-gated beverages.”
If responses remain limited, verify Parental Controls and Gemini response filters in the Google Home app.
New Feedback Options
Smart displays now feature thumbs-up and thumbs-down buttons after voice interactions, allowing users to rate Gemini’s responses. This feedback helps refine the AI’s performance.
Faster, Personalized Responses
Gemini delivers quicker, tailored replies. For example, after noting a nanny’s name like “Alice,” it identifies her in security camera footage upon request.
Users can request a “Home Brief” for a summary of events during their absence. Alarm settings also process faster, minimizing delays and repetitions.
