Harry Hill has been unmasked as Red Panda in the latest elimination from The Masked Singer’s seventh series. The ITV competition, where celebrities perform in elaborate disguises while a panel of judges tries to identify them, nears its semi-finals with high stakes.
Red Panda’s Exit and Harry’s Reveal
In the most recent episode, Red Panda performed the Black Eyed Peas’ ‘I Gotta Feeling’ but failed to advance. The judges offered their final guesses: Maya Jama suggested Chris Ramsey, Davina McCall proposed Brian Cox, Mo Gilligan pointed to Tom Fletcher from McFly, and Jonathan Ross speculated Rufus Hound.
Comedian Harry Hill, renowned for hosting TV Burp in the 2000s, emerged from behind the costume. He quipped to host Joel Dommett, “I’m not a natural singer—my wife heard me the other day and thought I was choking on a Pot Noodle!” Reflecting on the experience, Hill added, “No. Yes, of course I enjoyed it! The weird thing is, you put the thing on and you’ve got no inhibitions. The only downside is you’re breathing your own breath because it’s all trapped, and I had falafel for lunch!”
Previous Eliminations in the Series
Last week, Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke was revealed as Arctic Fox after a stirring rendition of Barbra Streisand’s ‘Woman in Love.’ He expressed mixed emotions, stating, “Devastated naturally. Delighted to be able to perform but devastated to have been voted off!”
Du Beke, married to Hannah Summers with eight-year-old twins, shared that he joined as a fan of the show to surprise his children. He noted, “Well, it’s such a lovely show. And it’s been going a while—I wondered why no one ever asked me before! They have, I just haven’t had the time. It’s a lovely show, wonderfully done, it’s a great show. And the thought of doing this and people trying to guess who you are.”
Other Recent Unmaskings
Earlier in the episode, Kate Nash was unveiled as Monkey after singing ‘As Long As He Needs Me’ from the musical Oliver! She described her nerves, saying, “I was so nervous about it, but then I got really nervous about the mask coming off and how it was going to feel singing without the mask. It’s like a little comfort zone—you’re not worrying about anything else when you’re in there. It was a unique experience; it’s going to be hard to give her up.”
The series has seen other notable reveals, including Shakespeare’s Sister’s Marcella Detroit as Gargoyle in the early weeks. Before that, Yak was former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon, known as Johnny Rotten, while rapper Professor Green appeared as Teabag. The opening episode unmasked Alex Jones, host of BBC’s The One Show since 2010, as Disc Jockey.
The Masked Singer streams now on ITVX, building excitement as the competition progresses toward the final.
