Scott McCristal’s Luxurious Gold Coast Apartment Draws Criticism
During Homestay Week on Married At First Sight, bride Gia Fleur voices strong dissatisfaction with groom Scott McCristal’s upscale waterfront apartment in Queensland’s Hollywell suburb, located 15km from the CBD.
This ultra-modern, two-level property features three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It last sold for $1.6 million in December 2025 and commands an estimated weekly rental value of $1,144. Scott, 32, has not disclosed ownership details on the show.
Premium Features in Port Meirion Marine Village
Situated in the exclusive Port Meirion Marine Village, the home offers breathtaking ocean views and high-end finishes. Highlights include herringbone timber flooring, an open-plan stone kitchen, and a spacious walk-in wardrobe—which Gia deems too small for her wardrobe.
Other luxuries encompass twin stone vanities, double monsoon showers, and a large bathtub. Community amenities feature a BBQ area, full-size tennis court, expansive pool, and direct Broadwater access. The residence also includes a private water-view balcony, home office, and alfresco entertaining space.
Gia’s Blunt Critique During the Visit
Upon arrival, Gia immediately labels the spotless apartment “messy” and critiques Scott’s decorating and cleanliness standards. She admits in a confessional, “I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was coming in looking for a problem or something to have a problem about—that’s just what women do.”
Tension peaks over a pink neck pillow discovered in the wardrobe. Gia questions its presence, calling it a “woman thing,” especially after Scott claims no prior female guests. She confronts him: “Put yourself in my shoes to see how it might look, as an outsider coming into your home. You have said you’ve never had a woman in your place, and you have a woman’s thing.” Scott explains it as a gift from friends.
Scott shares with producers, “If the roles were reversed and I was at Gia’s house, I would only say nice things—end of story.”
Fan Support Floods Social Media
Viewers rally behind Scott online. One Reddit user exclaims, “I’d marry Scott to get to live in that house,” while another praises, “It’s amazing and he clearly looks after it.” A third calls Gia’s reaction “insane behaviour.”
