Jason Biggs and Estranged Wife Jenny Mollen Display Friendly Demeanor
Actor Jason Biggs and his estranged wife Jenny Mollen were observed walking arm-in-arm in New York City recently, presenting a surprisingly amicable image just weeks after announcing their separation. The couple, who confirmed their split last month after 18 years of marriage and two children, appeared to be in good spirits as they strolled through the city on Sunday.
Mollen was seen holding onto Biggs’ arm as they engaged in conversation. Biggs, 48, reciprocated the gesture by holding Mollen’s hand. This public appearance followed an alfresco lunch during which the actor reportedly felt unwell.
Onlookers Detail Actor’s Indisposition
Eyewitnesses reported that Biggs experienced indigestion from the meal. The actor was seen being comforted by Mollen, keeping his head down and resting against a wooden cabinet. Representatives for Biggs and Mollen have been contacted for further comment.
The couple’s representative had previously confirmed their separation to People magazine, stating they were on “great terms” and prioritizing co-parenting their two sons. Mollen was reportedly present for Biggs’ 48th birthday celebration on May 12, which was observed with their family.
A source close to the couple indicated their continued connection, noting, “They are very much connected.” The source added, “I have no doubt that they will remain on excellent terms” regarding their future as co-parents.
Relationship History and Past Insecurities
Biggs and Mollen’s relationship began when they met while working on the 2008 film My Best Friend’s Girl. They became engaged in January 2008 and eloped four months later, with a larger ceremony taking place in Napa later that year. They are parents to two sons, Sid, 12, and Lazio, 8.
Just over a year ago, the couple marked their 17th wedding anniversary with a joint social media post that featured “silly moments together.” Mollen captioned the post, “17 years of this. Happy Anniversary @biggsjason.”
During their recent lunch, the pair sat closely together with their children. Reports of Biggs’ indigestion surfaced following the meal.
Mollen has previously spoken openly about insecurities within their relationship. In a 2019 op-ed titled “I Used to Be Jealous of My Husband’s Ex, Then I Became a Mom,” she detailed a past fixation on one of Biggs’ former girlfriends. The New York Times bestselling author wrote about “drive-bys down her block,” posting pictures in hopes of being noticed, and re-engaging her by “finding things of hers around our house and gifting them back to her.”
Biggs responded to Mollen’s piece in an interview with Us Weekly, calling it a “really sweet article.” He commented on Mollen’s unique and likable personality, stating the experience “encapsulated all of that.” He also reflected on personal growth, noting, “But, you know, we change, we grow up. We have kids and life goes on and the girl you stalked has kids. We’re changing and we’re just kind of growing up and for her, she felt like she needed to sort of say something about that and how she is not that person anymore.”
Actor’s Past Struggles and Public Statements
Biggs has also been candid about his own past struggles with addiction. The actor, known for his role in the American Pie franchise, has spoken about his battle with drugs and alcohol and is now sober. He previously confessed on the Well with Arielle Lorre podcast that his addiction became so severe, he would even conceal his drug use from Mollen. He recounted planning his alcohol and drug consumption, stating, “I knew when I needed to call the coke dealer because I was gonna drink too much, and how much Ambien to take or benzos to take based on how much coke I’d had so I’d come down but hopefully not die.”
Upon achieving fame at age 19 with American Pie, Biggs recalled having “money in the bank, coke in my pocket and nobody saying no to me.” He acknowledged the “crazy” nature of that period.
Biggs admitted to experiencing blackouts during his substance use, leading to memory loss about his actions. He explained how he hid his drug use from Mollen, stating, “I was drinking a lot by myself and using a lot by myself and not telling my wife.”
Mollen’s Recent Public Incident
In 2024, Mollen faced public scrutiny after traveling on a five-hour flight while unknowingly infected with head lice. In a video shared from her seat on the plane, Mollen expressed her distress, saying, “I can’t even deal. This is insane, you guys.” She added, “I’ve never had lice in my life. I don’t know what to do. I’ve been itching for two weeks, so they’ve been living on me for two weeks.”
Mollen later explained in a subsequent video that she was unaware of the infestation until she was already on the plane, initially attributing her symptoms to perimenopause. She opted for a plastic bag over her head as a measure, possibly to prevent spreading the lice. Mollen and others exposed to the infestation underwent treatment.
