John Grimes, one half of pop duo Jedward, has infuriated producers of the upcoming Celebrity Ex On The Beach series by revealing a major plot twist ahead of its premiere. The singer confirmed his rekindled romance with ex-girlfriend Sarah Carragher on Instagram, spoiling his storyline for fans.
The Paramount+ show launches on March 31, filmed in Tenerife. A trailer teased a passionate kiss between John and Sarah, ending on a cliffhanger. However, last Friday, John shared photos of the couple at the show’s launch party in front of Tower Bridge. He captioned the images: “Here’s to a new chapter and making memories with the best girl xxx.”
Producers Frustrated Over Lost Mystery
Sources close to the production indicate John’s post came at a poor time, rendering his arc pointless. Cast members were urged to maintain secrecy about reunions and hookups to build suspense and draw viewers. One insider noted: “John posting that he’s back with his ex was terrible timing as it makes his whole storyline on the show pointless.”
The source added that producers are upset, though the reveal appears unintentional due to John’s excitement.
John Reflects on Reunion and Past Regrets
John recently discussed reuniting with Sarah on the dating show, which helped them address past relationship issues. He described the encounter positively: “It was a really good feeling because we always got along even after we weren’t together.”
Both have dated others since splitting but realized their value apart. John highlighted Sarah’s effort to join him in Tenerife: “She has tried dating different people and so did I, but then at the same time you don’t know all you had until they’re gone. I know it’s a classic saying, but then you realise that she’s come all the way out here and she’s taken time off work to be here, so that speaks volumes for me.”
He joked about his appeal: “I’m sure a lot of my exes have regrets for not doing enough to keep me around, you know, I’m a keeper.” The experience allowed him to approach romance differently: “I think going on this show dealt with those love life regrets though because it gave me the chance to be reunited with an ex and then go about it differently.”

John and twin brother Edward rose to fame on The X Factor in 2009, mentored by Louis Walsh and placing sixth. John shared highlights of his romantic history, including a favorite last-minute Beyoncé concert date in Amsterdam: “It was very last minute and I was like, well none of your besties are taking you so you know what I’m going to bring you. It was so much fun.”
