New Footage Surfaces of Convicted Killer with Firearm
Unseen video footage has emerged showing Vickrum Digwa, the individual convicted of murdering Henry Nowak, handling a firearm in his backyard. The clip, recorded on October 18, 2022, depicts Digwa holding the weapon while another person fires shots at a wooden target. A former neighbor reported being startled by the sound of “loud gunshots” originating from the adjacent property in Southampton.
The neighbor, investigating the noise, captured the footage of Digwa and an unidentified man with guns in their garden. This incident occurred over a year before Digwa was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of 18-year-old Henry Nowak. Nowak was fatally stabbed on December 3, 2025, as he walked home from a night out in Southampton.
Court Proceedings Detail ‘Weapon Obsession’
At Southampton Crown Court, it was revealed that Digwa had stabbed Nowak five times. Upon the arrival of law enforcement, Digwa alleged that Nowak had subjected him to racial abuse and had knocked off his turban. These claims led to Digwa’s arrest and handcuffing, shortly before Nowak succumbed to his injuries at the scene. During the sentencing hearing, Digwa was characterized as a person with a profound “weapon obsession.” Nicholas Lobbenberg KC, prosecuting, stated that Digwa was “skilled with weapons, trained with weapons, sleeps with weapons, searches for weapons on his phone.”
The neighbor who filmed the footage told this publication that they reported the gunshots to the police. However, they were informed that no action could be taken without reports other residents. The neighbor also recalled hearing frequent shouting and arguments from the property, though they generally considered the occupants to be quiet. “I didn’t see him come and go often, but I would see him in the garden a lot,” the neighbor added.
Investigation and Subsequent Discoveries
Hampshire Police were unable to locate any record of the specific firearms incident. However, during a search of the property where Digwa resided with his family, following Henry Nowak’s murder, an air pistol was discovered. Henry Nowak was a first-year accounting and finance student.
The stabbing took place on Wednesday, December 3, on Belmont Road in Portswood, Southampton. Prosecutors stated that the confrontation began when Nowak used his phone to record a verbal altercation after crossing paths with Digwa. Digwa, who was reportedly carrying a large dagger, allegedly grabbed Nowak’s phone to prevent the recording, leading to a struggle during which Nowak was stabbed five times. The court heard that instead of seeking medical assistance, Digwa filmed the injured teenager. Prosecutors also indicated that Digwa’s mother, Kiran Kaur, removed the weapon to conceal it. Digwa and his brother are said to have presented a false narrative to authorities, claiming racist abuse and an assault by Nowak, which resulted in officers handcuffing the dying teenager despite his pleas of being stabbed and unable to breathe.
Digwa’s claims of self-defense and faith-based justifications were dismissed by the court. Hampshire Police have since issued an apology, and the case has been referred to the Office for Police Conduct in response to public outcry over the handling of the initial events.
