Husband of Katie Price Lashes Out at TV Presenter
Lee Andrews, the husband of television personality Katie Price, has called for Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid to be dismissed from her role. The demand comes after Reid referred to Andrews as a “conman” during a broadcast. Andrews asserts that Reid’s judgment was premature and lacked any substantiation.
Andrews Responds to Disappearance and Allegations
During a recent episode of Good Morning Britain, Susanna Reid expressed skepticism regarding Andrews’ explanation for his month-long absence in Dubai. Andrews, who claims he was detained at gunpoint under suspicion of espionage rather than arrested for fraud, has refuted reports of his imprisonment in Al Awir Central Prison. His disappearance initially surfaced when he failed to appear for a scheduled joint interview with Katie Price on the program.
Andrews has now pledged to appear on the Good Morning Britain sofa himself to “thrash it out” with Reid. In a recent Instagram video, he questioned Reid’s reaction, stating, “So, what is Susanna Reid rolling her eyes at?”
Call for Sacking and Defense Against Accusations
Despite stating his intention to discuss the matter further on the GMB sofa, Andrews directly addressed Reid’s comments. “To actually judge me without any evidence and calling me a conman is ridiculous, she should lose her job for that Susanna,” he asserted. “You’re prejudging, you’re prejudice towards me without any solid evidence other than an ex is coming forward with a story, and that’s all it is. If you’re an investigative journalist then surely you should know that.”
He reiterated his account of being taken at gunpoint, explaining, “I’ll say it one more time, the national guard that took me in the beginning, they have guns and they don’t register you as being arrested, they can just take you and hold you, which is what happened.” Andrews described the experience as unsettling, stating, “Anywhere in the world you go to an airport and they have guns, they were patrolling the border and they took me and not in the best way either, it wasn’t the best experience. From there they held me in a state security, so I transferred from a jail, the most worse, horrific place I’ve ever seen.”
Financial Woes and Release from Custody
Reports indicate that Andrews faces potential re-imprisonment within 14 days if he fails to settle outstanding debts. New documentation has surfaced detailing the extent of his financial difficulties. Andrews was released from prison last week and reunited with Katie Price, who traveled to meet him.
It is now claimed that a Dubai court has mandated Andrews to pay his outstanding debts within 14 days to avoid further incarceration. These debts reportedly include approximately £54,000 for a rental car and £15,000 to a United Arab Emirates legal firm. While not actively sought by police at this juncture, the debts must be settled promptly.
A representative for Andrews stated, “The judgement debtor appeared before the court and was questioned regarding the reason for failure to pay the debt. He stated his wife is currently outside the country and that he has been unable to access his bank account required to make payment. He requested a period of 14 days in order to settle the outstanding amount.”
A source added that Andrews managed to negotiate his release by promising to raise the capital himself, emphasizing Katie’s support without her directly covering his debts. He maintains his ability to handle the financial obligations independently.
Conflicting Narratives on Arrest Cause
Despite mounting evidence suggesting fraud as the reason for his arrest, Andrews insists he was detained on suspicion of espionage and held in a state security facility before being moved to prison for a civil matter. In a social media post, he reiterated that there is “not one shred of evidence” of fraud charges against him and criticized his ex-fiancée, Alana Percival, for publicizing the story.
Andrews recounted being apprehended at gunpoint near the Qatar border, describing the ordeal as physically unpleasant. He claims he was taken to a “black site” with no access to communication, which he understands to be an extension of the National Guard. He stated he has signed disclaimers with state security and has not faced any allegations of fraud or criminal activity.
He credited Katie’s involvement with UK authorities for his release from the “black site,” acknowledging her crucial role in his liberation. Andrews explained his subsequent move to mainstream prison was due to a civil case in Dubai, which he resolved during the Arabic holidays.
Ex-Partners Issue Warnings
Previous reports detailed Andrews’ imprisonment in Dubai on fraud allegations, with a significant sum reportedly required for his release. Katie Price had previously taken legal action against him, resulting in a travel ban from Dubai. His ex-partner, Dina Taji, reportedly met with Katie to convey concerns about Andrews.
Andrews has continued to deny allegations of taking out mortgages in others’ names, specifically mentioning his ex-fiancée Dina. He also addressed claims made by Alana Percival, whom he described as fame-hungry and disputed the extent of their relationship and any alleged scamming, stating he provided her with substantial financial support.
Other former partners, including Crystal Janke, have also come forward with accusations of financial deception. Janke claimed Andrews misled her into investing a substantial sum with promises of a significant return.
