Liam Gallagher Faces Ongoing Legal Dispute in New York
Liam Gallagher, the Oasis frontman, recently appeared via video link in a New York court as part of an escalating legal battle with Liza Ghorbani, the mother of his 12-year-old daughter Gemma. The dispute centers on child support payments for Gemma, who has autism and special educational needs. Gallagher, 53, fathered the child during a brief relationship with the music journalist in 2010 but has never met her.
The proceedings highlight tensions between the two parties. Gallagher has accused Ghorbani of using the support funds inappropriately for their daughter’s care. In response, Ghorbani claims Gallagher has been speaking negatively about her. She now seeks a significant increase in annual payments to cover Gemma’s needs.
Details of the Support Demand
Ghorbani is requesting £75,000 annually for nanny fees, £22,500 monthly for housing, and £5,000 for holidays, totaling around £500,000 per year. Currently, Gallagher pays approximately £3,000 per month. Court records from June 2025 show he has provided £750,000 in support since a confidential settlement in 2015. Ghorbani has also moved to examine Gallagher’s finances, including earnings from his recent tour estimated at £350 million.
Background of the Paternity Case
Gallagher first addressed Gemma’s paternity in 2013 when Ghorbani filed a £2 million child support lawsuit. He has faced fines for missing earlier court dates and has publicly stated he has not met his daughter, though he remains open to assisting her if required. Gallagher’s personal life has included multiple relationships, resulting in four children: daughter Molly, 27, from a relationship with singer Lisa Moorish; son Lennon, 26, with ex-wife Patsy Kensit; and son Gene, 24, with ex-wife Nicole Appleton.
Currently engaged to his co-manager Debbie Gwyther, 40, Gallagher appears to have found stability in his latest relationship.
Patsy Kensit Sells Jewelry from Past Marriage
In related news, Gallagher’s ex-wife Patsy Kensit is auctioning diamond earrings he gifted her during their marriage. The couple wed in 1997 and separated in 2000, shortly after son Lennon’s birth. Kensit has set a £10,000 reserve price for the items, which she plans to sell through antiques expert Tom Keane at an auction next month in Oxfordshire.
Kensit explained her decision, stating, ‘Times are tough. There are a lot of actors and actresses like me that have to tighten their belts.’ She added to media outlets, ‘I won’t be the first woman that will have sold jewellery that her ex gave her. I hope the earrings go to a good home.’ The actress last wore the earrings to an awards event in 1999.
Despite co-parenting Lennon, Kensit revealed she has not seen Gallagher in 26 years. During an appearance on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, she commented on the Oasis reunion shows, saying, ‘No, I watched the whole thing unfold and it was magical, those memories, and I haven’t seen Liam for 26 years. But I’m so happy for Lennon because he’s gone to watch this cultural explosion. I couldn’t be happier for the band and all the people rediscovering them.’
