Lisa Snowdon, the 54-year-old This Morning presenter, captivated fans by modeling her latest swimwear collection for Bonmarché on Instagram. Despite previously gaining three stone due to menopause, she showcased a confident and toned figure in vibrant £33 two-piece sets.
Swimwear Collection Highlights
Snowdon struck dynamic poses in a bold blue striped triangle bikini top paired with high-rise bottoms. She also flaunted her physique in a colorful patterned bikini and channeled a Baywatch vibe with striking red swimsuits. The lineup includes a paisley one-piece and navy options, complemented by stylish cover-ups and summer co-ord sets like blue shorts with a matching shirt and red trousers.
She captioned the post: “Who’s ready to jump on a plane and go?! My first swimwear drop with @bonmarche. Very proud of this one girls, each design and every detail is for us, by me, to give us comfort, support and most importantly confidence!! Which ones are your favourites?!”
Navigating Menopause and Weight Changes
Snowdon explained she did not notice her three-stone weight gain in her mid-40s because she avoided using scales at home. Unable to fit comfortably into her clothes, she expressed astonishment at the change. She attributes her transformation to intermittent fasting and mindful eating, now embracing a body slightly larger than in her 20s as more natural.
Impact on Intimacy and Relationships
Menopause significantly disrupted Snowdon’s sex life, leaving her feeling disconnected from intimacy with fiancé George Smart, whom she has dated for 11 years after reuniting in 2014. She described exhaustion and hormonal shifts drowning her desire: “For women, sex is such a mental thing, and when I didn’t know what was happening to me, the last thing I wanted to do was get sexy between the sheets. I was just trying to put one foot in front of the other each day.”
Snowdon credited Smart’s patience during her mood swings and frustrations: “I lashed out, and it was horrible when those sorts of rages just took over me. Thankfully, George was super understanding and never made me feel pressured. He always knew there was something else going on. He was incredible, he still is.”
Diagnosis and Recovery Journey
Symptoms began over a decade ago with anxiety, low moods, and emotional outbursts, leading to a misdiagnosis of depression in her early 40s. At 42, she broke down in tears at her GP’s office: “I just remember bursting into tears. It was the first time I’d acknowledged that I’d hit rock bottom.”
In 2019, tests confirmed full menopause, accompanied by poor sleep, skin changes, and other issues. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) brought relief and restored her libido through better communication and self-confidence.
