Two masked men armed with weapons broke into a home in Carnany Park, Ballymoney, County Antrim, leading to a violent assault on a woman inside. The incident occurred around 9:15 PM GMT on Friday.
Several children, along with a man and another woman, were present in the house during the burglary. The assaulted woman received medical attention at a nearby hospital for her injuries.
Investigators report extensive damage to the interior of the property, including numerous smashed items. After the attack, the suspects fled by turning right from the house and proceeding down an alleyway adjacent to the neighboring property.
Police Statement on the Incident
Insp Dalzell described the event as deeply traumatic. “This was a very distressing incident for all concerned, particularly given the fact there were a number of children in the house while all of this was going on,” Dalzell stated.
Authorities urge anyone with information about the suspects or the burglary to contact police immediately to assist in the ongoing investigation.
