Chronic Offender Faces Shop Ban
A 35-year-old woman has been prohibited from entering a Nottingham chocolate store following seven thefts totaling £851. Charlotte Jones of Cheltenham Street, Old Basford, targeted the same Albert Street boutique multiple times between December 2024 and January 2025.
Pattern of Holiday Thefts
Court records show Jones admitted guilt for three confirmed incidents: stealing £90 worth of chocolates on December 8, £62 in merchandise on December 23, and £60 worth of products on January 2. The pattern began during the 2024 holiday season and continued into the new year.
Legal Consequences and Rehabilitation
Nottingham Magistrates’ Court issued an 18-week suspended prison sentence on January 3, conditional on 12 months of compliance. Authorities additionally imposed a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order barring Jones from the store premises effective January 17.
“When repeat offenders persist, we will persistently pursue legal consequences,” stated Police Sergeant Dan Butler regarding the case.
The court mandated 10 rehabilitation activity days and £152 compensation payment. Violating the shop ban constitutes a criminal offense that could trigger immediate imprisonment.
