A pedestrian died after a vehicle struck them on the westbound lanes of the Lincoln Alexander Parkway near the Garth Street overpass Thursday morning.
Incident Details
Emergency responders received a call at approximately 6:52 a.m. regarding the collision. Hamilton Police report that paramedics arrived to find the individual had been hit by a car.
“Despite life-saving efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene,” police stated in a release.
Investigation and Road Closure
Authorities have withheld details about the victim, the circumstances of the crash, and the driver. Investigators urge drivers on the highway at that time to submit any dash cam footage to aid the probe.
The highway closed between Upper James Street and Garth Street for several hours during the investigation but has since reopened.
