Pete Davidson Recounts Bizarre Childhood Encounter
Comedian Pete Davidson recently shared a startling childhood memory during a private stand-up performance. At age eight, he accidentally clicked on a graphic video featuring six elderly men engaged in a sexual act, set to the tune of the Andy Griffith theme song.
Davidson described the moment vividly: “I clicked it, and it was horrible. It’s a video of six 70-year-old men, white guys, b***ing each other to the Andy Griffith theme song.” He admitted watching the entire clip out of curiosity, whistling the melody for emphasis.
Grandfather’s Reaction
As his grandfather returned from a Knights of Columbus event, Davidson rushed to close the video. However, the grandfather demanded to know what he had been watching. “He gets downstairs. He goes, ‘What are you watching?’ I go, ‘Nothing,'” Davidson recounted.
The comedian continued: “He goes, ‘Come on. Is it our favorite girl?’ I go, ‘That’s gross. ‘Cause your favorite girl should be grandma.'” Eventually, the grandfather grabbed him by the neck and insisted on seeing the screen. Davidson turned it on with the volume up, leading to his grandfather punching and breaking the computer before sternly warning, “Peter, we are never to speak of this.”
Family Background and Tensions
Davidson grew up with a single mother after his father, New York City firefighter Scott Davidson, perished in the September 11 attacks. He has spoken previously about strained relations with his maternal grandfather, whom he described as “old school” and Irish, with health issues including emphysema.
In another set nearly a year ago, Davidson revealed physical abuse from that grandfather and expressed dark sentiments: “I’m low-key thrilled. I’m like, die slow, motherf**er.” He contrasted this with his close bond to his paternal grandfather, Stephen, who appeared in his 2020 film The King of Staten Island.
Personal Life Update
Davidson, 32, faces rumors of a split from girlfriend Elsie Hewitt, with whom he shares a four-month-old daughter named Scottie. The performer continues to navigate personal challenges through his candid comedy routines.
