Rapper Found Guilty of Murdering Teen at Music Festival
A 25-year-old rapper has been convicted of murder after fatally shooting a 15-year-old boy at a UK music festival. Aderahman Boumzough fired a single shot that struck Rene Graham in the chest on July 21, 2024, in Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance Park, located in Ladbroke Grove.
CCTV footage reportedly captured Boumzough approaching a crowded children’s play area shortly before the incident. He is also alleged to have pursued a second individual, attempting to fire his weapon, but the gun reportedly jammed. Boumzough subsequently fled the scene.
Following a significant public appeal, which included a £20,000 reward for information, officers arrested Boumzough in September 2025. He was subsequently charged with murder and attempted murder.
Investigators uncovered a mobile phone recording of the suspect rapping. In the video, he appears to allude to the firearm malfunction, with lyrics stating: “Don’t you hate it when your ting jams? I was prepared to take soul, but Allah had a different plan.”
Jury Delivers Verdict After Trial
A jury at Woolwich Crown Court delivered a guilty verdict on both charges yesterday, June 26, following a two-week trial. Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who led the investigation, expressed her appreciation for the support received from a segment of the Ladbroke Grove community.
“While only a small number of people came forward, I would like to thank those individuals who provided statements and supported the investigation, including attending court, who refused to allow a dangerous individual such as Boumzough to live amongst them,” DCI Foxwell stated. She emphasized the extensive work of officers in meticulously reviewing hundreds of hours of CCTV footage to reconstruct the gunman’s movements.
“My thoughts continue to remain with Rene’s family and friends,” DCI Foxwell added. “I thank them for their cooperation and patience throughout this investigation. I hope today’s conviction provides them with a form of closure.”
Boumzough is scheduled to be sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday, July 3.
