Highlights of a Bustling Day

A key highlight was “The Reeling,” a newly introduced traditional music festival that captivated attendees with performances from acclaimed artists. The event showcased the best of Scotland’s folk talent, including performances by Dougie MacLean and the popular folk band Skipinnish, alongside other esteemed acts such as Breabach, Dlù, Elephant Sessions, and Kinnaris Q.

The much-anticipated Grand Parade once again proved a major draw, with over 150 of the nation’s top prize-winning cattle and horses proudly parading in the Main Ring. This iconic spectacle offered a glimpse into the excellence of Scottish livestock farming.

David Tennant, Head of Show for RHASS, commented on the day’s success, stating, “Today’s sunshine made for a sell-out Saturday as 55,000 people descended to the Royal Highland Centre for day three of the Show.” He further elaborated on the day’s entertainment, noting, “We saw the iconic Grand Parade take place which saw all eyes on the Main Ring, with a lumberjack relay, heavy horse turnout pairs and side saddling also delighting crowds.” Tennant also highlighted the musical offerings, adding, “Adding to the day, The Reeling, featuring the country’s finest traditional acts took centre stage as the day drew to a close and saw festival-goers enjoy music from Breabach, Dougie MacLean, Dlù, Elephant Sessions, Kinnaris Q and Skipinnish.”

Concluding Day Promises More Family Fun

Sunday marks the final day of the show, with a continued focus on family-oriented activities. The event aims to showcase both the rich heritage and the forward-looking innovations within the agricultural sector. Visitors can look forward to popular demonstrations, including milking sessions, and the thrilling spectacle of showjumping.
