Football Stars Celebrate Marriage with Oxfordshire Getaway
Australian football captain Sam Kerr and her spouse Kristie Mewis recently enjoyed an extravagant post-wedding retreat at a premium Oxfordshire estate, reportedly costing approximately $2400 per night. The couple traveled to England’s picturesque Cotswolds region with their infant son Jagger following a 90-minute journey from London.
Five-Star Indulgence at Estelle Manor
The pair resided at Estelle Manor, where Mewis described experiencing unparalleled relaxation during their stay. “They have different restaurants on site – everything you would ever want to unwind,” Mewis shared in a recent interview. “We visited every restaurant and spent three to four hours per meal. Our breakfasts stretched from 7 AM to 11 AM while we enjoyed endless coffees and fresh fruit.”
Mewis emphasized the resort’s all-inclusive atmosphere: “It’s one of those places where you simply don’t have to do anything. We spent nearly our entire time seated and dining.”
Asian Cup Preparations Underway
Kerr now shifts focus to Australia’s upcoming Asian Cup campaign, where the Matildas will compete on home soil beginning March 1st. The striker previously won the tournament in 2010 and remains hungry for further international success.
“Sixteen years ago seems crazy – it feels like yesterday,” Kerr stated in a recent interview. “This tournament’s difficulty level makes our 2010 victory even more significant.”
New Coaching Dynamics
The team’s new manager Joe Montemurro has impressed Kerr with his tactical approach. “He’s established a clear playing style and team identity,” the captain explained. “Having an Australian coach creates special motivation. He’s excellent both tactically and in building team chemistry.”
Australia will face the Philippines, Iran, and South Korea in group stage matches across Perth, Gold Coast, and Sydney venues during the tournament.
