Southern Cross Media appoints its third chair in six months following the takeover of Seven West Media, as Heith Mackay-Cruise announces his resignation on Monday morning.
Recent Leadership Shifts
The merged company, which operates Triple M, the Seven Network, and The West Australian, named Rohan Lund as chief executive in April. This move highlights rapid turnover in both board and executive positions.
Teresa Dyson, who joined the Southern Cross board this year after eight years on Seven West’s board, takes on the role of chair-elect.
Board and Ownership Details
Kerry Stokes stepped down from the Southern Cross board in February, but his family retains a 20 percent stake. His son, Ryan Stokes, continues to serve on the board.
Mackay-Cruise, the prior chair of Southern Cross before the merger, served as interim executive chair after Jeff Howard left the company just six weeks following the takeover.
Shareholder Actions
On Friday, shareholder Sandon Capital requested the removal of several directors, including Mackay-Cruise.
