The highly anticipated fifth and final season of the acclaimed FX culinary drama, ‘The Bear,’ has arrived, bringing with it a distinct musical landscape. Audiences are keen to discover the sonic tapestry woven into this concluding chapter.
Created by Christopher Storer, the series stars Jeremy Allen White as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, Ayo Edebiri as Sydney Adamu, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richard “Richie” Jerimovich, and Abby Elliott as Natalie “Sugar” Berzatto. The final season delves into the aftermath of Carmy’s departure from the restaurant industry, with Sydney, Richie, and Natalie tasked with steering ‘The Bear’ forward. Facing dwindling finances, a potential sale, and a severe storm impacting Chicago, the team must unite for one last intense service to ensure the restaurant’s survival and achieve the recognition they’ve strived for.
In the United States, season five premiered on FX and Hulu on June 25. Viewers in the UK can stream the season on Disney+.
A Shift in Musical Approach
Music has consistently played a pivotal role in ‘The Bear,’ with previous seasons featuring memorable song placements from artists such as Refused, R.E.M., Taylor Swift, The Who, Bob Dylan, St. Vincent, Pearl Jam, Wilco, and Nine Inch Nails.
However, season five adopts a different strategy. Instead of relying heavily on a broad selection of licensed tracks, this final installment prioritizes an original score. The soundtrack is composed by Christian Lundberg, with production contributions from Hans Zimmer.

Composer’s Vision for the Final Season
Speaking about his involvement in the show’s concluding season, Lundberg shared his creative intent. “From the beginning, ‘The Bear’ has been about far more than what happens in the kitchen,” he stated. “It’s about ambition, family, resilience and the bonds that hold people together.”
Lundberg elaborated on his goal for the score: “Joining the show for its final season, my goal was to create a score that honored the emotional weight of characters navigating constant change, balancing the intensity of their journeys with quieter, more reflective themes, weaving together electronic and organic elements to mirror that push and pull.”
This original score aims to complement the narrative’s exploration of ambition, familial connections, and the enduring strength of relationships amidst the high-pressure environt of the restaurant world.
