Emergency services responded to a fatal collision on the A55 in North Wales, where Jennifer Anne Brown lost her life in a crash involving a car and a lorry at the Conwy Tunnel.
The incident occurred on Thursday, leading to the closure of the North Wales Expressway in both directions while authorities managed the scene.
Dedicated Career at Local Nursing Home
Jennifer Anne Brown served as a care worker at Glan Rhos Nursing Home for more than two decades. Staff members there fondly referred to her as the ‘queen’ for her unwavering dedication and warmth.
Colleagues remembered her as a compassionate individual whose warm smile had the power to brighten any room. A statement from the nursing home highlighted her journey: ‘Jenny, affectionately known to everyone here as ‘Queen,’ has been a valued member of staff at Glan Rhos for over 20 years. Not just a member of staff, she was family.’
The statement continued, noting how she started as a shy 17-year-old and grew into the caring and compassionate person everyone cherished. ‘Jenny touched countless lives throughout her career, always greeting everyone with a warm smile that could light up any room.’
Family Impact and Community Support
Three other family members sustained severe injuries in the crash and remain in critical care. Ms. Brown is survived by her 20-year-old daughter, Keisha, who is receiving support from family friends during this difficult time.
A fundraising campaign has been launched to help cover funeral expenses and provide assistance to Ms. Brown’s family. The initiative describes the profound loss to the community: ‘Yesterday, our community was shattered by a horrific car accident that has left a precious young girl Keisha aged 20 suddenly without her beloved mum. To make this tragedy even more unbearable, the rest of her family members are fighting for their lives in critical care at the hospital.’
The funds will directly support Keisha and her family in their time of greatest need.
