U.S. President Donald Trump vows to prevent the Gordie Howe Bridge from opening, the latest border crossing linking Windsor, Ontario, and Detroit, Michigan.
Trump’s Direct Warning
In a Monday social media post, Trump declared: “I will not allow this bridge to open until the United States is fully compensated for everything we have given them, and also, importantly, Canada treats the United States with the Fairness and Respect that we deserve.”
Officials continue to seek clarification from the White House on the president’s stance.
