Blue Jays superstar slugger Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. is carrying on a legacy. And he knows what it would mean for his family if he becomes a World Series champion.
The son of Hall of a Famer, the younger Vladdy wants to uphold his family name while carving out his own path to greatness. And it isn’t surprising to hear that it was his father – along with his uncle and former MLB player Wilton Guerrero – were instrumental in helping him hone his baseball skills as a kid.
“[My uncle] all the time put in my thoughts that I could be higher than my dad,” Vladdy Jr. informed MLB on FOX analyst David “Large Papi” Ortiz. “However to me, to be higher than my dad is not straightforward. He is within the Corridor of Fame.”

Vladdy has been round baseball royalty since he was a child. You have seen the picture of him as slightly boy dressed up in an Expos uniform and taking part in catch together with his dad. You have seen the phots of him as a child hanging out with legends reminiscent of Ortiz and Pedro Martinez.
But when there may be one factor that’s actually motivating him, it is to win the World Sequence ring that eluded his father.
“Once they examine me with my dad, I am not even shut but. I simply play my sport and attempt to give every little thing that I’ve to the group,” Vladdy Jr. stated. “He performed 16 years within the huge leagues, he by no means received one. He confirmed me how one can play the sport, he confirmed me how one can respect the sport. Play arduous, be humble.”
And one other factor that is motivating the famous person to assist Toronto win its first World Sequence since 1993? A group that Ortiz is extraordinarily aware of.
“That is just like the 2004 Boston Pink Sox. We imagine in one another, everybody is aware of the half they should do to win the sport. … All people right here is sort of a household. Being on this place proper now could be superb.”
