Several unannounced Nintendo Switch 2 titles have surfaced through recent ratings from the ESRB and Taiwan’s board, fueling rumors of an impending Nintendo Direct.
Recent Ratings Highlight Switch 2 Ports
The ESRB has rated Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, Hell Is Us, and the stealth shooter Blood West for Nintendo Switch 2. These games have launched or been revealed on other platforms but lack official confirmation for Nintendo’s new console.
Taiwan’s ratings board lists the adventure title UN: Me and Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5 for Switch 2. The first three Devil May Cry entries already appear on the original Nintendo Switch, and strong sales of Devil May Cry 5 elsewhere position it as a prime candidate for the upgraded system.
Nintendo Direct Patterns and Speculation
Nintendo has hosted six Direct presentations in 2026 so far, including two focused on the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, a Partner Showcase, an Indie World event, and a stream for Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream. None announced new first-party titles beyond Pokémon Winds and Waves set for next year.
Typically, Nintendo delivers a major Direct in the year’s first quarter—except in 2024—but 2026 features smaller events. This pattern stands out as the Switch 2, recently launched, experiences declining sales momentum in Western markets.
The timing of these ratings has sparked online discussions. One Reddit user noted, “Yeah, something’s happening in April.” Another observed, “Seriously, there’s gotta be a Direct happening soon or something because five in a row is just ridiculous.”
Potential Direct Focus and Switch 2 Outlook
These third-party ports suggest the next event could be another Partner Showcase. However, major Nintendo Directs often blend first- and third-party reveals, leaving room for broader announcements.
Nintendo requires momentum for the Switch 2, with confirmed first-party releases limited to Yoshi And The Mysterious Book and Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave this year, Pokémon Winds And Waves in 2027, and no date for Splatoon Raiders.
With the Super Mario Galaxy Movie hitting cinemas next week, Nintendo may soon pivot to highlighting its game lineup.
