Rebecca Judd shares that her marriage to AFL legend Chris Judd remains full of excitement after more than two decades together. The 43-year-old mother of four describes the 42-year-old retired footballer, who stepped away from the game in 2015, as still ‘game-ready’ and incredibly attractive.
Podcast Revelations on Enduring Passion
During a recent episode of her Vain-ish podcast, Judd praises her husband’s dedication to fitness. ‘He’s full keto. You should see his six pack,’ she enthuses. ‘He is in playing form… he is so hot.’ She adds, ‘He’s amazing. 23 years and I still find him hot.’
The couple, who married in 2010, first connected as teenagers in a Perth pub in 2002—the same year Chris began his professional career with the West Coast Eagles. Reflecting on their meeting during a Q&A, Judd recalls, ‘It’s weird, I didn’t really have lots of boyfriends growing up, and I was very, very picky, and I saw him, and I was like “Damn! I like him”.’
She even mimics excitement over his calls: ‘When he calls me, I’m like, “Oh! It’s Chris Judd”.’
Humble Roots and Raising Appreciative Kids
Judd recently opened up about her working-class upbringing in Perth, Western Australia, raised by parents Hugh and Kerry alongside her older sister Kate. ‘We’re not silver spooners. We never had a new school uniform, they were always hand-me-downs from friends’ older siblings,’ she explains.
Financial constraints shaped her childhood: ‘Kids who paid for their school excursions, with the slip and the money in it, on time – rich! We never paid on time because we never had any spare money.’ Simple outings caused anxiety: ‘Whenever we’d get the form, I’d get anxiety, going, “Where are we going to find $5 for this animal incursion coming to school?”‘
Now a successful influencer and fashion designer, Judd works to instill gratitude in her children—Oscar, 14; Billie, 11; and nine-year-old twins Tom and Darcy. ‘They are privileged, they go to amazing schools, so it’s hard to get them to get a sense of how lucky they are, the way they live,’ she notes. ‘What I have figured out is that kids don’t give a s**t. They remember the memories and the fun times they had in that house, not what the furniture looked like. They just want to have fun.’
The Judds wed on December 31, 2010, at Melbourne’s Albert Park.
